Damn Good Business

Business Tips December 12, 2013

I woke up this morning with such a sweet little treat in my inbox, it not only made my day, but it was an example of damn good business.

I knew I had to share, because not only is it super cute, but it’s something we can all learn from when it comes to client service in running our businesses.

This, my friends, is my new Facebook timeline cover image.  I didn’t ask for it.  I didn’t even hint I needed a new one (although I certainly do – that pic with the President is pretty cool, but it’s over a year old – time for something fresh).

Boegem Facebook Cover PhotoWe did a quick family photo shoot on Saturday with uber-talented and in-demand portrait artist, Courtney Ortiz.  She was so generous to squeeze us in before we had to run off for a 6 year-old birthday party, and she’s such a pro, she got it done – and quick.

Three days later, with her own family’s trip to Disney in between (not kidding)  – she delivered an image gallery of gorgeous edited proofs for me to choose from for our holiday card.  One picture was better than the last.  Amazing.

Then, she promptly uploaded the ones I selected to the holiday card website so I could get my order off ASAP.  (That was yesterday).

Done.  A total pro.

And then, BAM.  There it was.  This adorable photo collage for my FB cover photo waiting for me in my email inbox this morning.

A perfect example of the “Before, During, and After” philosophy of client service – one of the many brilliant nuggets of wisdom I learned from my own business mentor (more about how you can learn all those nuggets yourself in a future post).

The transaction was done.  The service completed.  And then – shazam – Courtney wows me.  That’s damn good business, don’t ya think?

Do you have any stories of a business wowing you after the fact?  I’d love to hear them in the Comments.

xx,

Stacy
